L.F.O.A Pre-Season Meeting

President's Message

Well…we’ve kicked off and here goes 2008!!!

It’s early in the year and already getting people to fill assignments is proving tricky. Even though ‘ Arbiter’ is up and running and from early reports working well; we still have Jim Steeves scrambling to get our games covered. Remember, we encourage all to do ball at higher levels such as the NFC or the OVFL, yet I still feel we all need to help out with LFOA’s games as well. So Please!!! Keep this in mind when filling in your calendars.

Speaking of calendars hope to see a good turn out for the June 13th walk in support of Paul Chapman, and his fight against Cancer.

The Golf Tournament will be held Aug 19th at Beechwood in the Peninsula with tee times around 11:00 a.m. Your $100.00 entry will include golf, cart, steak dinner, and a $25.00 gift to all participants ( not a shirt!!!) It’s one of our social events. So hope to see as many of you as possible.

The new and Improved rule books are in, and the new rules for ’08 are done. Contact Hoky about getting the book, and look to our web site for the new rules and their interpretations,

We’ve already run two clinics and held a pre-season meeting. Thanks to Bill Szigeti for all his efforts on these. The video session at the May 14th meeting was really valuable.

It’s nice to see the well wishes going out to Jack “Curly” Leitch of the T.F.O.A. Keep boosting his spirits as he goes through the slow recovery phase.

Cudos to Mike Groleau and the work he is doing at the Provincial and National level for all officials, not just LFOA.

Don’t be too quick with your whistles, and have a good reason to throw flags. Mostly be safe and have some fun!!!
